| The Isle of AvalonLocated six miles off the Cornish coast, Avalon is the safehouse and headquarters of the Guardians in the UK and named after the mythical island in Arthurian legend. The small island is about five miles long and two miles wide. It has been in the organisation for years. Avalon is heavily guarded. Thick, grey stone walls line most of the rocky coast with look outs and radar to alert the inhabitants to intruders. Guardians and visitors usually arrive by helicopter although sometimes by boat although this is discouraged because there is a vast array of aquatic life in the surrounding waters. Access is only granted through security codes. It is a completely self sustaining island with hydrolics and wind power to provide them with the eletricity needed and a water purification system is used. Hundreds of creatures are brought here and kept for rehabiliation or protection with homes tailored for each and every one. | |
