PLATO DRESDEN Age: 312
Race: Purebred Vampire
Occupation: Council of Elders Member
Allegiance: Chthons
Appearance: Born with a warrior’s build Plato was destined to become one of the clan’s greatest warriors before he ascended to his father’s seat on the Council. Tall and athletic Plato stands at six foot exactly with strongly built arms and legs. People say that genetics are the major factor in appearance and in Plato’s case it is quite true, he was blessed from birth with attractive features befitting his position as a true born vampire of noble ancestry.
Ginger hair sits atop his head, a family trait that accentuates his pale complexion from never seeing sunlight. He has pale blue eyes that glimmer in moonlight surrounded by the natural red hue typical of all vampires. Plato enjoys dressing in expensive clothes, mainly suits, as a sign of his large wealth and as the remaining descendant of his family he was always taught to portray opulence and excellence at all time.
Personality: Naive yet ambitious. There is an inherent dichotomy within Plato which seems to be in constant war. On one side he is still a young man within the Vampiric world where his fellow members of the council are thousands of years older than him, knew his parents and have experience that he would take generations to accumulate. On the other side is an inherently ambitious man that believes he is best suited to lead than to follow. With this he sometimes hesitates during decision making leaving him on the back foot when other council members take the lead.
Plato is currently engaged in a sexual relationship with Pandora, the leader of the Chthons, he sees her as a powerful ally, but he has begun to feel some kind of feelings for her. It isn’t love for he knows her history with men all too well, but there is an intimacy he feels that is clearly unrequited from her. If he could access her power then he would be able to consolidate his own power within the council far better than his father ever had. One thing his parents taught him from a young age was that power to a vampire was everything and those that held it could do whatever they please.
History: Born to Friedrich and Gretta Dresden, Plato was named after the human philosopher to one of the most prominent leading German vampire families. He was long awaited and expected never to be born. His parents had tried for millennia to get pregnant but the difficulties of a pure born pregnancy are hard to obtain. Subsequently he is the last Dresden to be born and the pressure to continue the family name lies with him and no one else.
From birth Plato was spoiled by his parents, who had joined the uprising led by the Drake family to unite all the Vampire clans across the world into one force to combat the rising threat of humanity. The Dresdens became long supporters of the Chthons movement promising the support of the German vampires to the cause. Plato was raised with the superiority complex of the vampires believing that they were the rightful rulers of the planet and that all other races were beneath them only to be used as pawns in their battles against their enemies.
As Plato grew up he was destined to become one of the leading warriors for the Chthons with the hope he would one day be a General before taking his seat on the council replacing his father. This path, which was laid out for him, seemed to be going along the right lines. Plato began his training as one of the expert assassins tasked with removing the leaders of their enemy’s forces. He loved the training, the use of weapons, both physical but also the mental. Deception, misdirection and subtlety were the main tools of his trade.
One of the most memorable missions he was sent on was an early mission where he was sent into the American Capitol to remove a highly influential politician that would have been a barrier in the Chthons plan. Under the dead of night Plato was sent into his house where he went to work killing his entire family. He did not kill them through the usual methods of draining their blood, but did so by using poison but once they were dead he bit each family member on the neck to show the authorities that the vampires were behind this and that they should fear the Chthons. It was a message that would resound across human politics for centuries.
As he got older he was expected to take on duties of his father, but generally shirked his responsibility preferring to be on mission then learning the ways of politics. He had centuries to do that before his father would step down, or be killed, but he was soon forced into the dangerous world of politics when his father was attacked by a pack of werewolves. His father had been leading a mission against a rebel tribe when they were attacked from behind, there were no survivors when the rescue team was sent to investigate, Plato being a member of the team. He had not given up hope that his father would still be alive but when he saw the mangled body that was once his parent he knew that the responsibility now laid on him. When he returned home, he took his place as a council member. His mother did not deal with her husband’s death easily, she went into a fit of rage and left the safety of the clan and was never heard of again. She is presumed dead, but countless attempts to find her have not been successful.
Plato now engages in the political decision making for the Chthons and attempts to solidify his power as a strong name in the vampire world.
